Very nice guitar Hesh, I sure hope that next rack is not late arriving!! That ropey mahogany looks great and I like that top too.

Hesh,
I can't tell you how happy I am to see these pictures!
I'm in the process of building 2 000's with the same wood combination.

That has got to be the nicest looking guitar I've EVER seen.

Congratulations.

I didn't think it was possible but I think your getting better! That hog jumps right out don't it! Tony sure does a nice job on that spraying!

   Very nice work!

So the big question is... what's next

Hesh,

That's a lovely looking guitar. It's nice to know that the "British School" is having an influence

Each piece of top wood has to be judged on its own merit in rterms of thicknessing and bracing and as Colin has often said I think there is a tendency to overbrace. I suspect that light bracing but with the top left thick enough to get the good mids and trebles is the way to go.

Patience is a virtue and I think with Adi (and euro) tops you have to have a view to the longer term and how the guitar will sound as/when it fully opens up and resist sometimes the temptation to get the "opened up" sound right from first stringing. Having said that it's nice when they sound great and you know that is just going to get better and better

Well done again

Very nice take on a traditional desgin, Hesh. The guitar looks clean inside out, no nosense apointments, just the way I like 'em!

Hesh,
those are the cleanest neck-to-body and bridge-to-top joints I have ever
seen. Your craft skills are just impeccable. And Dreads with scalloped
bracing are powerful work horses. What's not to love about this one?
NOTHING! The only down side is Lacey didn't get to play this time.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Hesh, you've done it again! I love that mahogany. And the adi top looks great too! I really like your choice of BRW for binding and the simplicity of design on this one. Oh yeah, I also really like your bridge design, that is too cool.

I recently got a set of Cuban mahogany from uncle Bob and can't wait to use it. Gotta get the paying gig outta the way first though.

It's posts like this one that keep me inspired. Great job Hesh! Dave Rector38996.3939930556

Hesh, that is truly a great looking guitar. I'm sure it sounds fabulous as well. What makes this more amazing is all the adversity you've had to put up with these past few months. Bravo!

Yeah--and I think you should commemorate your suffering in some way or another. How about an inlay of Gibraltar, or perhaps the Jungfrau on the next guitar? That would get Lacey involved on one of your guitars again, and be a reminder of your travails this past year.

On the other hand, you just might want to forget the whole ordeal....

A black top huh...heck why not...beats a s**b***t

With 9 guitars in your rack I guess you'll have start varying the finishes so that you'll be able to recognize it once you get up to guitar #100 in a couple of years

Beautiful work. I'm curious why exactly you have those little diamond braces on your seam.
According to Martin if I am not mistaken, the true factor in pre-war bracing tone is in the use of a maple bridge plate rather than a rosewood one.

Hesh another outstanding guitar. I've been wanting to build one out of that rope figure mahogany myself. Maybe someday I will.
Not to shock or horrify any one here but the plan is to have a gloss black top, Tiger Myrtle rosette and back and sides and the binding will be ebony to make the top look like it is wrapping around to the sides..... Incoming........
Hmmm....gloss black sounds nice. Although a tobacco burst might look better with the tiger myrtle, because of the browns in the stuff. Still, that should look great!

Don I agree a Tobacco burst would look great and give it a real vintage vibe!

Don are you coming around on the whole burst thing? (no sarcasm intended)

Hesh, you might also consider coloring the top in a solid tobacco brown.
